ALL Physical Agility Waivers MUST be received NOTARIZED by July 25, 2025.

ACT 120 CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED - SBRPD WILL SPONSOR YOUR POLICE ACADEMY; HOWEVER, ACT120 CERTIFIED ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

1. Age - Applicant must be at least 21 years of age at date of employment.

2. Vision - Minimum standards of vision are or must be correctable to 20-20.

3. Health - Applicant must be in good physical condition. 

4. Education - Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Applicant must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

5. Background - Applicants must not have a criminal conviction and must have an excellent reputation in their community. 

6. Applicants must possess a valid state driver's license at the time of hiring.

7. Citizenship - Applicants must be a citizen of the United States of America.

HIRING PROCESS:

PHYSICAL AGILITY (August 16th, 2025 at 8:00 AM)

The physical agility test will be held at Bangor Borough Memorial Park, Market Street, Bangor, PA  18013 (Entrance is across the street from the Bangor Turkey Hill - Rt 512)

Requirements for physical agility standards are:

     -     Sit ups - 30 - no time limit

     -     300 meter run - 66 seconds

     -     Push ups - 25 - no time limit

     -     1.5 mile run - 15 minutes 54 seconds

WRITTEN TEST (August 16th, 2025 at 1:00 PM)

The written test will be held at Lookout Fire Company- 123 S. Main St, Pen Argyl, PA 18072

Applicants passing the written and physical test will move onto oral boards.
