Palmer Township property owners have been greeted the past few nights with an unwanted guest on their properties. A large black bear has been roaming through yards through the night in search of food. Palmer Police and the Pennsylvania Game Commission are aware of the new Township guest, and are asking homeowners to follow the below precautions;

1. Refrain from placing garbage along curbside until the morning of pick up.

2. Do not place food in outside garbage receptacles.

3. Remove wild animal feeders (deer, birds, etc.) from your yards. 

The Game Commission Officers are confident that the bear is making his way north towards the wooded area, so if seen, do not be alarmed and allow him to move along.
