The Palmer Township Police Department and its thirty-six police officers and civilian staff strive to provide courteous, professional and compassionate service to the twenty-one thousand plus residents, visitors, students and those that work and play in our township.
The department achieved professional accreditation in 2014 from the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, one of less than one-hundred departments in Pennsylvania to complete this rigorous task. This is an important accomplishment in the pursuit of excellence as a professional law enforcement agency.
Our Vision, Mission and Values statements articulate the concepts and principles we hold important. These concepts and principles are the foundation for the performance of our core function in society.
We respectfully request all members of the community to work with our department using our CrimeWatch site in a police/community integrated approach to enhancing safety, security and quality of life in Palmer Township. The community can play an extremely important role in the reduction and prevention of crime and the apprehension of suspects.
We welcome our community partners in the pursuit of keeping Palmer Township a safe and welcoming place for all of those who live, work and play here.
Wayne D. Smith
