How To Steal A Car In 5 Simple Steps
- The vehicle owner leaves their key fob unprotected near their front door on a table, on a hook, or in their jacket pocket
- Thief #1 stands near your home with a relay box that boosts the signal from your fob
- Thief #2 stands near your car, picks up the boosted signal from thief #1 with their relay box, which boosts the signal to the car.
- The car believes that you, and your key fob, are standing next to it and so it dutifully unlocks the door allowing the thief to get in to your car, start the engine and drive away.
- You get up in the morning to go to work only to discover your car has been stolen.
To prevent or make it difficult for your car to be stolen, be vigilant where the vehicle is parked, is it inside or outside? Do you have protective devices installed on your vehicle?
Consider the below links as options for safety devices that can be installed.
