*** Honoring National Peace Officer Memorial Day ***
At tonight’s Palmer Township Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Palmer Township Police Department acknowledged National Peace Officer Memorial Day and National Police Week.
Chief Smith also recognized several of your Palmer Township Police Officers.
Officers were recognized and presented with Awards for their actions.
An awards ceremony was held in front of the Board of Supervisors, their fellow officers and members of the community.
Awards issued:
- Unit Citations issued to Retired Detective Sergeant Ruoff and Wilson Borough Police Officers Migliore and Stout.
- Merit Award issued to Officer Patrick Clinese
- Civilian Service Award issued to Jose’ Gonzalez
- Unit Citations Detective Sergeant Taylor, Detectives Lembach and Strong, Investigators Lear, Santo and Alexander.
- Merit Award to Detective Strong
- Unit Citation issued to Officers Billiard, Kromer, Burton, and Goldstein
- Commendation for Heroism issued to Officers Billiard, Kromer, Burton, and Goldstein
- Civilian Service Award issued to Doctor Thomas Stauffer
- Achievement Award issued to Officer Gallas
- Achievement Award issued to Officer Kromer
- Certificate of Appreciation issued to Police Chaplain Peter Keady
These officers were nominated for their awards by a committee of their peers.
Two Civilians were also recognized and presented with awards for their actions and for getting involved in two separate incidents. Both are our first recipients of the Civilian Service Award.
