The Defendant, James Mathews, who was terminated from Majestic Athletics in 2021, was dropping his brother off who still works at the warehouse. Still angered at management, he accelerated through the parking lot, striking his brother with the vehicle.
While investigating the assault, Officers observed the described maroon Jeep Compass driving in "circles" in the middle of both travel lanes on Newlins Mill Road, causing a road hazard to passing motorist.
Due to the erratic driving behavior observed, Officers while operating Palmer Township Police marked patrol units drove towards the suspect's vehicle, and in attempts to stop the vehicle, activating audible and visible warning signals. While driving behind the suspect's vehicle, now identified through a Pennsylvania registration, and with warning signals activated, the defendant failed to stop and pull to the side of the roadway, while traveling approximately one mile through traffic. A short pursuit was engaged between the suspect and police, which was shortly terminated due to entering a high traffic area.
