On Wednesday October 22, 2025, we will be participating in “OPERATION SAFE STOP”

For the past 28 years, PennDOT, in partnership with law enforcement agencies and pupil transportation associations, has proudly participated in Operation Safe Stop—a statewide initiative focused on school bus safety.

🚌 The mission: To educate drivers that passing a stopped school bus while children are loading or unloading is both dangerous and illegal.

🚔🚍 Through coordinated efforts, our goal is to raise public awareness about the serious consequences of these violations and help reduce the number of illegal passes around school buses.

🚓 We urge the public to stay alert and vigilant—not just on October 22, but every day. Watch for school buses, obey flashing red lights and stop arms, and always use extra caution in school zones.
