Case

On Friday May 14, 2021 at approx. 1918hrs police were dispatched to the Giant Food Store 1880 Leithsville Rd for a threat report. On arrival police learned that a male came to customer service counter and attempted to purchase three $500.00 gift cards with another gift card. The customer service associate informed the male that he could not purchase gift cards with another gift card. The male then became agitated and was walking back and forth. The male then became angry and told her all she had to do was hit the “OK” button. When the associate refused to process the transaction the male began yelling at the associate and called her a “Bitch”. He then threatened to send someone back to kill the associate. As the male was leaving the customer service area he banged his hand on the Plexiglas partition.

The male was described as a black male, 18-25 years of age, approx. 5’10”, 150lbs wearing white shirt, blue skinny jeans, light blue zip-up sweatshirt, black socks and multi colored flip flops. The male left in a tan colored Chevrolet sedan.

After speaking with Giant Asset Protection it was learned the male previously had been at the Coopersburg Giant and attempted the same type of transaction but did not make any threats at that store. It is also believed the male had attempted the same purchase at the Rite Aid in Hellertown.

Anyone with information or able to identify the suspect is asked to submit a tip through our Crimewatch Tipline or phone police at 610-317-6110, reference Inc#20210514M8780.
