On August 26, 2025, at approximately 1848 hours, police responded to the parking lot of the Giant Food Store, located at 1880 Leithsville Rd, for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a hit-and-run. The offending vehicle was subsequently stopped by Hellertown Police, and the drive was identified as Sara Hart

Ms. Hart was unable to perform all field coordination exercises and was taken into custody. The individual was transported to the Northampton County DUI Center for processing, where a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.26% was obtained. Charges of Driving Under the Influence, Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Property or Vehicle, Careless Driving, and Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages were filed.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
