On March 22, 2025, at approximately 3:50 AM, Forks Township police officers responded to the 611 Food Mart, located at 1670 North Delaware Drive, for a burglary alarm with a glass break. Officers arrived and located a smashed front window, the cash register was broken open, and display case windows were smashed. Detectives responded to the scene for processing and reviewed video surveillance from the store. The video showed two suspects arrive in a white Pontiac G6, exit the vehicle, and smash the front window. The suspects stole $19,963.53 in merchandise and caused $7,411.41 in damages to the business. Detectives thoroughly investigated the incident and identified the suspect's vehicle and one of the suspects, Chad James Hefter. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by Judge Hutnik for the charges of (1 count) Burglary (F2), (1 count) Criminal Trespass - Break Into Structure (F2), (1 count) Criminal Conspiracy (F2), (1 count) Theft by Unlawful Taking (F3), (1 count) Receiving Stolen Property (F3), (1 count) Criminal Mischief (F3), and (1 count) Possessing Instruments of Crime (M1). Hefter is currently lodged in Chester County Prison.
