On August 17, 2025, at approximately 7:48 pm, a Forks Township police officer was in the area of 1434 Knox Avenue when they were advised by a passer-by that a driver had thrown an alcoholic beverage at their vehicle. The officer observed the offending vehicle in a parking spot and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle. The vehicle then attempted to reverse out of the parking spot, nearly striking a patrol vehicle. The driver stopped the vehicle and the officer directed him to exit. The driver was identified as Eric Yaindl.
While speaking with Yaindl, officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and person. Officers noted Yaindl's slurred speech and unsteady gait. Yaindl agreed to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Based on Yaindl's performance, he was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Yaindl was transported to a Northampton County DUI Center, where a legal blood draw was conducted. Results of the blood draw indicated Yaindl's BAC was .243%. Yaindl was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - General Impairment (M) and (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Highest Rate .16% or Higher (M).
