On September 26, 2025, at approximately 7:48 pm, a Forks Township police officer was patrolling in the 600 block of Kuebler Road when he observed a vehicle parked on private property. The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Scott Sylvester. While speaking with Sylvester, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic substance emanating from the vehicle and observed Sylvester to have glassy eyes. Sylvester was directed out of the vehicle and the officer detected an odor of alcoholic substance on his breath. Sylvester admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages before operating the vehicle.
Sylvester participated in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and, as a result of the tests, he was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Sylvester submitted to a legal blood draw, which indicated his BAC was .093%. Sylvester was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - General Impairment (M) and (1 count) Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (M).
