On August 10, 2025, at 8:21 pm, Forks Township Police responded to Sullivan Trail and Apple Hill Road for a report of a reckless driver, who had crashed his car into a guardrail in Tatamy Borough, without stopping, and continued into Forks Township. Upon arrival in the area, an officer observed a vehicle with front end damage and flat tires. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, however, it continued to travel southbound on Sullivan Trail for a short distance until finally stopping. The driver, identified as Sergei Ot Du Shin, was removed from the vehicle by police and officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverage, unsteady balance, and slurred speech.
Ot Du Shin was transported to the hospital due to his involvement in a car accident and later submitted to a legal blood draw. Ot Du Shin's BAC was later determined to be .263%. He was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Highest Rate (M), (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - General Impairment (M), (1 count) Careless Driving (S), and (1 count) Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property (S).
