On April 27, 2025, at approximately 4:21 am, a Forks Township police officer observed a vehicle parked where signs prohibit parking, in the area of Kesslersville Road and Bushkill Drive. The officer observed a male sleeping in the driver's seat. The officer woke the driver up and he was positively identified as Matthew Gibney. While speaking with Gibney, the officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic substance emanating from Gibney's breath and person. Gibney agreed to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and, as a result of the tests, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Gibney's BAC was later determined to be 0.219%. Gibney was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - General Impairment (M), (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Highest Rate (M), and (1 count) Illegal Park Where Official Signs Prohibit (S).
