On December 30, 2023, at 8:23 pm, while assigned to a DUI roving patrol, a Forks Township police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Richmond Road. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer also observed green vegetable matter in plain view throughout the vehicle. One of the passengers was identified as Thomas Banghart and the officer observed additional green vegetable matter and a clear vacuum-sealed plastic bag containing suspected marijuana where he was seated. The officer executed a search warrant on the vehicle, which yielded drug paraphernalia, THC, and MDMA, which was later confirmed by a Pennsylvania State Police Lab.

As a result of the incident, an arrest warrant was obtained for Thomas Banghart to answer to the charges of (1 count) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Cannabis (F), (1 count) Possession of a Controlled Substance - MDMA (M), and (3 Counts) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M).
