On March 22, 2025, at 12:44 pm, a Forks Township police officer responded to Weis Markets, located at 3825 Sullivan Trail, for a retail theft report. The loss prevention employee reported details of a retail theft that occurred on March 18, 2025, which included video surveillance of inside and outside of the store. A male suspect is observed under-ringing multiple items during the checkout process. The total loss to Weis Markets was $285.30. The male suspect was identified with collaboration from multiple other police departments where he committed thefts in their jurisdictions. The male was identified as Jared Alexander and an arrest warrant was issued for the charges of (1 count) Retail Theft - Under-ring (M1) and (1 count) Receiving Stolen Property (M1). Alexander is currently lodged in Allegheny County Prison on separate charges.
