There have been several reports of these devices being installed in our region, and we want to ensure everyone is aware of the risks.

Skimming devices are small, discreet, and can be installed in just a few seconds. They are designed to capture your sensitive credit card information, putting your finances at risk. These devices can be found on ATMs, gas pumps, and even store checkout counters.

To protect yourself, we recommend taking the following precautions:

• Check the credit card reader before use. Look for any signs of tampering, such as scratches, stickers, or unusual attachments.
• Give the card reader a gentle tug. If it comes off or feels loose, do not use it.
• Cover the keypad with your free hand when entering your PIN to prevent cameras or onlookers from seeing your code.
