On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 10:50 pm a Bushkill Township police officer observed a vehicle traveling on East Moorestown Road with an expired registration. As the officer was preparing to initiate a traffic stop the driver passed another vehicle traveling in the same direction where this action is prohibited. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the driver, Nicholas Matthew Young.
During the investigation, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Young’s breath, and he displayed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, and as a result, Young was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
A legally obtained blood sample was obtained and the results received on July 23, 2025, revealed that Young had a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.104%. Young was subsequently charged via criminal complaint with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance (General Impairment), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance (High Rate of Alcohol), Operation of Vehicle Without Official Certificate of Inspection, Registration and Certificate of Title Required, and No-Passing.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
