Bangor Borough and the Bangor Borough Police Department have been made aware that an individual has been going door to door claiming to be contracted by the Borough to conduct a survey of roofs and home exteriors. Bangor Borough has not contracted with any individuals or companies for this purpose; nor have there been any transient vendor permits issued for this purpose.

The Bangor Borough Police Department would like to remind residents to remain vigilant and cautious when dealing with unsolicited visitors or callers. 

Here are some tips to help you protect yourself:

Be wary of unsolicited offers or deals that seem too good to be true. Legitimate businesses and organizations will not pressure you into making a decision on the spot.

Verify the identity of solicitors by asking for their name, company, and contact information. Check if they have the necessary permits and licenses to operate in our borough.

Never give out personal or financial information to unknown individuals or companies.

Be cautious of door-to-door solicitors who may be using high-pressure tactics to get you to buy their products or services.
