Trespassing and Dangers of Swimming in the Bangor Quarry

The Bangor Borough Police Department would like to remind the public of the dangers associated with trespassing and swimming in the Bangor quarry. This area is private property and is strictly off-limits to the public.

Swimming in the quarry poses significant risks to one's safety, including:

• Deep and unpredictable water depths
• Strong underwater currents
• Hidden obstacles and hazards
• Lack of lifeguards or emergency services

Trespassing in the quarry can also result in serious consequences, including:

• Criminal charges for trespassing
• Fines and penalties
• Risk of injury or death

The property is secured by Fencing and No Trespassing Signs. We urge everyone to respect the private property rights of the quarry owners and to avoid this area altogether. Instead, enjoy the many safe and legal recreational opportunities available in our community (Bangor Pool).
