On Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:08AM, Slate Belt Regional Police Officers, along with other Police agencies were conducting a DUI Checkpoint in Plainfield Township. At this time, Officers observed a driver of a vehicle commit traffic offenses while attempting to avoid the checkpoint. A traffic stop was conducted on the driver of the vehicle. The driver, who was later identified as Norena Waterman immediately exited her vehicle and began squatting next to her vehicle on the roadway, with her pants down to her ankles, exposing her genitals. N. Waterman was exhibiting signs and symptoms of possibly being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. N. Waterman refused a drug influence evaluation by an Officer. N. Waterman was placed into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found to be in N. Waterman's possession. N. Waterman consented to a legal blood draw and tests revealed that her blood contained 1-Hydroxy Delta-9 THC, Delta-9 Carboxy THC, and Delta-9 THC. Charges were filed against N. Waterman.
