Body Camera Deployment
January 27, 2021
Media Release: Body-Worn Cameras
Beginning Saturday, January 30, 2021, Lower Saucon Township Police Officers will begin wearing Body- Worn Cameras while on duty. Lower Saucon Township Police Department patrol vehicles have been equipped with in-car camera systems for over a decade.
The Lower Saucon Township Police Department is committed to a partnership with the community and deploying body-worn cameras is another way to increase transparency and continue to build trust. The entire department has received the appropriate training on the body-worn cameras and associated policy.
All of this was made possible by a $22,000.00 grant from the Federal Department of Justice, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Chiefs’ of Police Association and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The total cost of the body-worn camera project was $44,007.00.
