Police were dispatched for suspicious activity involving a black motorcycle in the 1800blkof Leithsville Rd. Prior to police arriving the motorcycle left the area. Police located a motorcycle and rider wearing a silver helmet matching the description in the 1800blk of Friedensville Rd and the motorcycle did not have a registration plate attached. Police attempted to stop the motorcycle and the motorcycle continued travelling at the posted speed limit but failed to stop. When the motorcycle got to the traffic light at Friedensville Rd & Mountain Drive the operator turned right and fled at a high rate of speed north on Mountain Drive. A short while later the motorcycle went around a marked police unit that was stopped at Seidersville Rd & Rte#378. The motorcycle then fled north on Rte #378 into Bethlehem City. Police continued checking the area and eventually located the motorcycle and rider parked on Christian St (Bethlehem City) and the rider was sitting on the motorcycle on his phone. Once other police units arrived in the area the male operator identified as David Hays Venable Jr. was taken into custody.
Mr. Venable was arraigned before District Judge Alan Mege and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000.00 straight bail. Mr. Venable also had a bench warrant out of Northampton County.
