On Wednesday November 30, 2022, at approx. 1749hrs Lower Saucon Police responded to the 1800blk of Felicity Ln for a report of fraudulent activity. The victim reported that she received a Verizon package in the mail containing an Apple IPad Pro that had been fraudulently purchased through her Verizon account number.
The victim received several emails and phone calls from an individual posing as Verizon support personnel, who told her that the IPad had mistakenly been ordered and delivered to her address, and to leave it on the front porch for a Verizon employee to come pick it up.
Police conducted surveillance on the area and at approx. 2040hrs, a vehicle arrived in the area, and the driver approached the residence and identified as Aneury Castillo-Blanco age 32 of Passaic, NJ. After further investigation Mr. Blanco was subsequently taken into custody to police headquarters.
A search warrant was executed on the vehicle that Mr. Blanco arrived in and seven IPad Pros were also seized.
Mr. Blanco was then transported to Northampton County Central Booking for further processing and arraigned on charges of Identity Theft, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft by Deception and Criminal to Commit Theft.
