On November 7, 2022, at approximately 1409 hours, a Forks Township police officer conducted a vehicle stop, in the area of 1709 Richmond Road, for a non-functioning tail light. The driver was positively identified as Jason Alfaro. During the investigation, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle and observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Alfaro admitted to smoking Marijuana approximately 30 minutes prior to the officer's traffic stop. Alfaro participated in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and demonstrated clues of impairment. Alfaro was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI-Drugs. A legal blood draw was completed and the results confirmed the presence of THC in the blood sample. Alfaro was charged by criminal complaint with (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (M), (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance - Schedule 1 - 1st Offense (M), (1 count) Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance - Metabolite - 1st Offense (M), (1 count) Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana (M), (1 count) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M).
